Samuel Cogar is an applied mathematician with a lifelong curiosity for science and storytelling. His love of science fiction began with the Star Wars books his parents bought for him while growing up in West Virginia, but it was the time spent watching Star Trek with his father that showed him how science fiction can be used to explore difficult topics in an accessible way.

Sam began writing short stories in Summer 2020, leading to his first work of fiction, Totality: a story collection, in February 2022. He is currently working on writing more stories and maybe a book or two. Stay tuned!

In addition to writing, Sam enjoys juggling, walking, and talking about space with anyone who will listen. He lives in Maryland with his wife, Shyla.
